The Persian word Chikan, refers to the creation of delicate patterns on a fabric using several stitches such as tepchi, jaali, murri amongst others. Enriched with this fine craft of Chikankari this highly skilled and elaborate embroidery technique renders ornate motifs that are floral or geometric with exquisite attention to detail, lending it gossamer like quality.
